The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien Although a quick read, I was thrilled to be back to Middle-earth. I confess that although I read the Lord of the Rings three times in the last 10 years, I had never read The Hobbit.
As expected, the story is fascinating. Tolkien's writing style (that I hadn't realised I missed so much) is like a breeze of fresh air. He manages to recount a linear adventure in a not-so-linear way. Simply brilliant!
I'm looking forward to Jackson's movie in December, but am really happy I finally took the time to read this classic.
