3.5 Actually. It was really not as good as I would have hoped, but still enjoyable. My biggest issue with the book? Kvothe must really be the most obnoxious narrator I have ever encountered. It was impossible for me to relate to him during most of the novel. The best passages were actually the ones where he was living in extreme poverty and constantly in pain. He seemed to always want everyone around him to remark how amazing and talented he was at everything he did.
Besides this major negative point, the world and mythology were amazing, which is why I was able to read the whole thing. Is it enough to make me read the sequel? With so many great characters at there, I'm really not sure.
