An amazing read! With each passing story, I felt the book coming to an end and found myself purposely reading slower, not wanting it to be over.
Following the model of some medieval novels (such as the Canterbury Tales and the Decameron), Hyperion has different characters tell their stories as they embark in a pilgrimage. I won't go back into the description of the stories, as I enjoyed not knowing what to expect myself as a new character began his/her tale. Suffice it to say that I enjoyed all of the stories, with my favourites being the Priest's, the Detective's and the Consul's.
Disagreeing with what many think, I personally loved the ending and I don't think it could have ended any other way. This book, my friends, is a work of beauty.
